The Journey Behind Crazy Tails.........

The Crazy Tails story began in 2017, inspired by our beloved Old English Sheepdog, Odie. As first-time dog owners, we quickly realized how challenging it was to find a grooming service that catered to larger, energetic dogs like him. Odie wasn’t the easiest to manage at traditional grooming salons, and we struggled to find a place that truly understood his needs. This challenge sparked the idea for Crazy Tails—where luxury grooming, personalized care, and dog-focused services come together in one place.

 From the beginning, our vision was to create a high-quality, all-in-one facility where dogs could be pampered, cared for, and genuinely enjoy their time in a stress-free, nurturing environment. Inspired by the challenges we faced with our own dog, Odie, we realized that many pet owners struggled to find services that combined luxury with genuine care. We wanted to change that by providing a space where dogs could receive not only the highest standard of grooming but also have access to a range of services that catered to their physical, emotional, and social needs.

We started by opening our first luxury grooming studio, driven by a simple goal: to offer a truly exceptional grooming experience for all dogs, regardless of their size, temperament, or breed. We believed that every dog deserved the very best, so we committed ourselves to using only the finest natural products—products that would not only keep their coats in perfect condition but also ensure they felt relaxed and pampered throughout the entire process. This attention to detail and care became the foundation of everything we did.

However, grooming was only the beginning. As passionate dog lovers, we understood that dogs need more than just grooming to thrive—they need mental and physical stimulation, companionship, and a safe environment where they can feel at home. This led us to expand Crazy Tails into a full-service doggy daycare and home boarding facility. Our aim was to create a seamless experience for both dogs and their owners, where all their needs could be met in one place. Whether it was a day of supervised play or an overnight stay, we wanted to ensure every dog felt safe, happy, and cared for, just as they would at home.

Our growth has been driven by our commitment to this vision. Today, Crazy Tails has expanded to two state-of-the-art grooming studios—one in the heart of Rickmansworth, with easy access and ample parking, and another at our picturesque Harefield location, The Retreat. We’re proud to offer our 20-acre luxury retreat, located on the outskirts of London, where dogs can enjoy vast open spaces, tranquil surroundings, and a truly unique experience.

We’ve remained true to our original mission—to provide the best care for dogs, with a focus on quality, comfort, and personalization. From grooming to daycare and home boarding, our services are designed to meet the highest standards, reflecting the same level of care and attention we sought for Odie. As Crazy Tails continues to grow, we remain dedicated to creating a place where dogs and their owners can feel confident that they are receiving the very best.
